These are riveted to the passenger side of the Suburban and I have no idea what they are for. Any ideas?

Some PO probably had a whip antenna and mounted it on the lower mount and put it through the top one so it could move a little bit (slot) without hitting the body

I was thinking fishing poles but this was a Vegas vehicle its whole life so that wouldn’t make sense. There aren't any body holes for an antenna cable to come through. There are two sets if its hard to tell in the pictures.

I was trying to say the top mount is basically supporting the antenna, similar to this:

The lower mount is definitely an antenna mount. Now what they used it for, who knows

Yea not sure why 2 sets of 2 on the same side. Definitely weird

They'd make good bungee points for stuff on the roof or a roof top tent, my first thought was antenna but I didn't see a hole for the cable.

Only on 1 side of the truck or both?

They must have used it all the time if they riveted it on. Any way to ask the PO?

Ahem.... what, we Las Vegas folk don’t fish? Lake Mead is one of the largest man made reservoirs in the world. :deal: Good fishing too if you know where to go.

I wonder if they weren’t some kind of window shade?

Maybe the previous owners used one of those roof top carriers like an
"S-Cargo" and those were for the tie down straps ?..

there was a guy i knew in vegas that had a kayak that folded and used a mount similar to this

I thought shade mount also. Never seen anything like those in 34 years of dabbling with these squares.
