ive found a truck on there that looks really nice with 52k, but doesnt have keys. how hard is it to get a title for vehicles purchased from these government auctions? what do you guys generally think about buying vehicles from there?

What do you concider a good condition CUCV?

I bought a trailer and CUCV from them - it is easy to buy and the registeration docs are provided if the auction says so. If not, they are not. But if you bid, you buy it. Period. So make sure before you bid.

My 09' was bought from Gov. liq. by somone else and I had to go through the process of getting the title. It was very frustrating, apperently there is only two people who deal with it and they are very busy.

I already have another k5 that runs. I was hoping to sell it when the 09' was done, but I don't know now, thinking about dumping the project. It only needs a few things but I'm running out of patince with it, and I just picked up another project:o .

Sorry James.

Is that with your state or Govliquidation? I got my paperwork in the mail the next week on both of mine.

That was my experience with GL. Once I got the title it was no problem.

I have that truck on my watch list. Its only an hour or so from me. Looks complete and unmolested.

are you seriously looking to buy? i dont want to be bidding against a ck5'er:haha:

Not serious about it. But if it went for the right money I would pick it up. I want a clean straight 1008 to Daily Drive. I am tired of putting miles on my 06' 2500HD.

i want a nice dd too, but i also want to wheel it :D. only thing i dont like is that it doesnt have keys, so who know if it runs. looks real clean so id think it would fire right up. i pm'd john in SC to see if he would be able to pick it up and store it for me til i can get down there. if he can then im going to go for it.

SF-97 is the paper work needed to title the truck. Normally they will state 'No SF-97' if they are not going to provide one. The SF-97 MUST be in the name of the person titling the truck(ask me how I know). With a SF-97 made out in your name in hand, getting a title is easy.

I would not worry about not having keys, all the CUCVs take the same key!
Thats why you always see the steering wheels with a chain/padlock.

Also NEVER mention a current auction on the Web that you plan on bidding on!!!

i know i know. its alright, things didnt work out with john, so i wont have a way to pick it up or store it til i can get down there. so im still on the hunt :doah: this is turning into a game:haha: so somebody grab it!
