Mine are:

replace gas tank in jimmy with new one after I paint it
weld in new tailpan
if money is laying around, fix front axle and brakes
strip out carpet and look for more rust
finish tuning the q-jet
new battery.

What are your projects for this upcoming winter?

My first project this winter was to fix my extension cord. (Thanks, Mom, for cutting it while you offered your unsolicited assistance in trimming my yard. :shame: I hope your nice pruners make great wire strippers  )

My 6.2L starts soooo much nicer now on frosty mornings :D

I'm not planning anymore projects this winter... the damage-control will keep me plenty busy when the next thing fails I'm sure :o

Sell my '93
Replace with big block tow rig
Re-pay loan on said tow rig

Find 'Yota cab and frame to start next project
Get Kert to weld some beadlocks onto my rock rashed steelies
Recover from bankruptcy

Propane.
Finish cage.
Move up sliders.
Get trailer.
Maybe beadlocks.
35 spline outers on D60.

That should do me for awhile :D

i have plenty to keep me busy this winter...

i hope to have the "frankenstein 305" in the '54 done this winter... just lacks tuning and exhaust, and finish the body and paint.

second off, i have the big black blazer to rebuild. it'll need a steering knuckle, steering stablizer, front cap and passenger door and some frame work. God i miss that truck.

and then i'll have to do something to whateverelse i get to drive in the meantime, whether it's a sub', k5, or a truck.

3) swap out my Raptor 700 + np205
4) swap in the th400/203/205
5) swap out my ORD shackle flip + revolver shackles
6) swap in a DIY shackle flip and 56s
7) set up my fuel cell
8) wheel

tow rig:

1) remove stock bed / bumper
2) build/install flatbed
3) tune up
4) yank stock bench seat (its ghetto) and interior carpet
5) strip interior sheetmetal, use rust bullet, repair panels etc, then herculine
6) rattle-can paint exterior
7) start saving for the trailer... lol!

1. Pack all my tools in the truck
2. Watch the movers pack the rest of my house
3. Collect large sum of money form the US Navy
4. Drive to San Diego
5. Have cold beer

My first rig

Yup, I'm new here and I have just got myself a new rig. I'm pretty damn excited about it. He has pretty much done all the work.....boooooo I know.....I'm not a gear head but am willing and able to learn. Right now he has Detroit lockers in the front and rear, being that I am in Colorado and from what I have read this is going to be an issue.

Anyway, I will be spending my winter in the truck closing my eyes and pretending I'm on my way to wheeler lake!

Great post and can't wait to talk with ya`ll

swap in 1 tons
get doubler
square driveshafts
52'' fronts
56'' or 57'' rears
boatsides
re-cut fenders so they dont look so crappy
full hydro steering
mount 39.5 tsl on beadlocks
make some kind of inner fender for the front
maybe narrow the rear

i got my hands full for awhile. and its not even a truggy yet

well hopefully it wont be to much of winter.. but maybe just these next 2 weeks.. swap in 1ton rear 3/4 front... put my 6" lift on at same time.... then few weeks later... drop in new crate motor....

i actually have this set as my background on my puter lmao :p:

untitled7dd.png

Cut out right quater panel
Weld up new quarter panel
Replace windshield
Install ground effects
Paint
Change AC Compressor

This is all to get my cavalier finished and sold, so I can then pick up an 86 shortbed ;)

Don't laugh yall. Gathering up pieces to build a 292, with TBI and a turbo. Found the motor, think I have the TBI and harness offa 350 SBC, now I just need a good turbo cheap. This is all to be different and have something that will still scoot pretty good. Hope I don't blow the Saginaw 3 speed in the process, but WTF.

Sean, I'm around on and off tonight. I'm probably gonna go full hydro on the next project. When do you want the crossover by? I have a 2wd box/shaft and a full ORD setup with only 2 honest runs on it. We might be able to work something out.

Ill need it when you dont need it :wink1: We should deff work something out man, that would save me alot of time and i could maybe even plan a trip to come out and pick it up :wink1:

I'll cut you a deal on the whole shebang but the fittings do leak a little bit. More than efficient enough for a trail truck but just warning ya.

I'll keep you updated.

  • Perform a long overdue oil change
  • Install highbeams / grill on new core support
  • Bolt down center console / bolt on dash bezel
  • Fix my OBA setup
  • Build a front winch bumper
  • Install heavy duty front shackles I won at BB05

Oh man this list could keep going and going and going....

Oh yea, the biggest thing I need to do this winter concerning my truck...

Save enough money to finish rebuilding my D60 so I can get it under my rig and actually throw my 40's on.

Well, I have an 86 K5 sitting in front of the house that I need to swap my drivetrain into. Engine, axles, lift, roll cage, compressors, seats, cb, brake lines, etc......I have alot to do. Should only take me about 2 weeks :haha:
