what brand of trailer tires???

I think you'll have a hard time finding a passenger car tire that is rated for that much. (1750/tire) Maybe in some of the larger tires, but 1250 or 1500 comes to mind as the most I'd seen when looking at car tires.

I'd certainly not recommend intentionally overloading tires, so if you know what the loaded weight will be, and the size you can run, should be able to narrow your search down to ones that are rated for that. I'm thinking LT's or actual trailer tires my be your only options.

If dealing with passenger car tires, I think the key may be to use only manufacturers (and maybe even models) that the OEM's are using. As with anything, there are PROBABLY some tires coming from China that would hold up, but if an OEM isn't putting them on their warrantied cars, I'd certainly not want to take the chance.

My car came OEM with 15" Nexen's (Korea) and they are still going, 45,000 miles later, no flats, some logging road abuse to boot. They'd probably have another 10K life if I had rotated them. lol

I have Carlisle's on my trailer, got the lifetime warranty on them through Discount tire. 4 tires on the trailer, Discount has now warrantied 7 of them (of the original 4 purchased) and I haven't worn out any of them (current tires are probably ~2/3 tread).

Yes, that keeps me in new tires but it sucks changing them, and until recently, didn't have a Discount anywhere near me (bought them in Denver, then moved to Glenwood Springs where the closest store is an hour and a half away). And I lost two on a short trip within Western Colorado, maybe talking a couple hours each way. Do I really need two spares for short trips?

Every single one has had the tread separate, always with ~60 psi in them.

I've offered to put the warranty replacement towards something better the last few times and Discount won't do it. Definitely won't be the tires I buy next time.

Many of the cranberry growers here use old aircraft tires on their trailers..I'm talking ones off commercial jets like 747's!..ever try changing a 32 ply aircraft tire?...my friend did when he had a tire shop--only once though!..just the tire alone weighed over 350 lbs..

Judging by how many semi truck tires treads I have to swerve around that are littering the highways,I'm not so sure those are the answer either..but new ones ,not retreads, would probably work good..cost more than the trailer too probably....

Jess I'm headed to Denver for a dually box and some other parts....check out the thread from Capt. Ron

I saw that on Tire Rack's website...148/ea for the 235/80/16E:

these are the interco trailer tires: 60$ + shipping each for 235/80/16E (blem price)
for that price I would assume they are Korean or China made?

I had heard that Intetco was bringing back its manufacturing to the US after severe quality control issues . But that's unconfirmed .

I will call them Tuesday and get more info, and post it up here as well.
