Have a lead on a Dana-Spicer 3053A 5-speed manual transmission for cheap. Current owner says its an overdrive, curious to know a couple of things about it:

1) Did these ever come behind the SB, BB or diesels?
2) If not, can they use the SM465 or SM420 bellhousing? I'd be bolting to a 350 or 6.5NA Diesel
3) what ratio is the OD?
4) what divorced T-cases were used behind them in 4x4's?

i just saw one in a mag, someone had it behind a bbc, not sure how they did it but it was overdrive.

Well Rene got you the ratios, and I have the bellhousing to mate it to the GM engines. :D
Tcases were divorced, the rockwell, the dana 125 and the NP200 were some of the tcases used.
How much can you get it for?
Boyce sells them for $950 rebuilt. I am trying to find one cheaper. :D

Just gotta find the right bellhousing out of a C40-60 series with a 5 speed non-o/d, it will bolt right up to the tranny. I know it ISN'T a New Process 542 GL, because I have one in the barn.
