I have rust on my fire wall. is there some kind of plugged up drains or something that cause this kind of rust? When it rains i can watch water seeping down from that seam. Like this,

cowl seam rotting away, probably a bunch of leaves in there...
yup, the factory did some shoddy seam sealer work on the inside cowl drain area some times.. take a peak down thru the vent up top....
on mine, i fully welded it then re-seamsealed it from up top... then ran a bit of duraglass on the smoothed weld...
i'd suggest some media blasting....

So, it might be an optical illusion, but when i look down threw the cowl where the winshield wiper arms are, i can see a seam wher it meets the fire wall. The seam i can see from above, appears to be about 2-3" higher then the seam i have pictured above. Is that possible? Or am i out of my mind?
