Laying out my harness for a TBI swap on my plow truck came across 2 connectors I couldn't identify. Harness is out of an '87.

This first one is right next to the ECM under the dash.

Second connector is at the back of the engine next to the distributor leads:

The 6 pin connector has the wires for the ALDL and VSS. Just cut and splice the wires you need. The single pin connector is a tach signal.

the big 6 is for power window and locks or mirrors on 90-91

the tach would be a single white wire connector not green .

The tach signal is the single white wire coming off the coil correct?

oops, the tach wire is a white wire with a female connector.:doah:

The six pin I think is still the wires for the VSS and ALDL. If the brown wire goes to the ecm then it's the VSS signal, if the brown/white goes to the ecm it will the check engine light and the ALDL should be orange if I remember right.:dunno:

All of the 6 wires go right to the ECM

If I pick out the ALDL wire can I just wire that to a light for a make shift Service Engine Soon light?

So I'm fairly confident that the green connector is for the A/C. My question is, is this an input? As in if that wire sees 12v, does it kick up the idle? If so that'd be useful when plowing.

The green wire is an input that should kick up the idle when 12v is applied.
The brown/white wire is to the check engine light and is the ground for the light, so you will need to provide a key on power to the bulb/led.

Thanks for confirming that

On the ALDL connector, which terminals do I jump to get the Check Engine light to flash the codes?
