hey yall, im trying to do a sm465 np205 swap on my 87 k5 and for the life of me cant figure out what transmission crossmember i need. i read a few forums/posts on which crossmember i need but i still don't know which one i need. for context, i have a 6" suspension lift and currently have a 700r4 np208 combo. please correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure i need a slip yoke style 205 if i want to keep the same rear driveshaft length. any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated for making this swap easier!

do you have 1 mount for the t-case adapter or 2 separate bushing mounts ?

the short adapter / 1 big mount - w-crossmember 85-up .

the tall adapter / 2 smaller mounts - flat crossmember 84-older .

go for a fixed yoke 205 on the rear cause you are going to need a c/v driveshaft for a 6" lift on the blazer and it will require a flat flange in place of the yoke . look up the ford super duty front c/v shaft guys are using . i did one in a blazer build and worked great . and there a 1ton 1350 c/v head and junk yard cheep find and shorten the tube .

Your 87 should have the same crossmember you need for the 465/205 as long as the setup came from a 85 or newer
