What did \'82s come with?

Getting a parts truck tommorow, a '82 3/4t. Went to look at it tonight, I didn't think they came with part time 4wd but this one has not only lockouts on the front axle but a 205 t-case? Behind a 700r4 trans. I didn't think they came like that but I doubt someone would go through the trouble to convert this turd. I'm not familiuar with the 208 cases............ I so think this has a 205, with a slip yoke. It has for sure,8lug 10b front, semi. floater rear, 700r4, 350cid. with a carb.

It's probably a NP208 which is a part time case. The 203 was last put in the 79's. GM never mated the 700R-4 to the 205.

Also the only year for the slip yoke 205 was 1980...

is the case aluminum or cast, aluminum would make it a 208.

i have an 82 K10. it came with a 700r4 and a 208. its half ton though, i dont know if that makes a difference.

I picked it up yesterday. The case looks to be alnminum. I do belive its a 208. Thanks guys. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
