Well, I was installing my 42s and something is not right. I got one on and was installing the other side when the tire spun. It spins forward but not backwards. When spinning forward it sounds like when your on a roller coaster going up the steep incline. Click click click click. Great, What did I break. Any clue?

Nothing. Thats the way they are supposed to be.

Let me find a link.....look at the end of this article......CLICKY

Sweet! So it spins like an limited slip when one tire is in the air? I don't get it.

It allows one tire to rotate faster (never slower) than the other around corners when coasting. When power is applied to the pinion it locks both wheels.

I think it needs torque going to the gears to "lock"

This ^. With a little effort you can unlock it and it'll spin freely and make noise. Reach under and rotate the pinion (with a little effort) and it'll click back together.

Seems like your truck would pull a bit to the left when you're driving :haha:

When my old truck would lock back up it would jerk the truck and sound like it spit the driveshaft out. :eek1:

Thanks! I have been working on the beadlocks for a while. There are a lot of bolts to tighten. Tomorrow I am going to weld up a pinhole in the 2 front tires and get them mounted. Check the balance, and groove and put bead sealer on the inside bead. Also need to do so,e trimming on and 4 wheel wells.

You are a much better welder than I will ever be..........
Every time I have a pinhole in a tire, I have to use a rubber plug. I don't think I have the right type of MIG wire for welding tires............:dunno::D

Ha ha! Way to be on the ball Fordum! I should have said wheels.

And I thought you were going to have a sweet story about welding pinholes in tires:D
