Sweet, good to know. I haven't payed much attention to my blazer for about 2 years, bought that axle and decided to look around on the web for blazer related stuff and found this site. Lots of tech I like it.

I payed $850 for my D60 and 14FF. Just swapped the 14FF for some doors with power windows and locks. It didn't match the D60 gear ratio and I didn't want to swap gears. Yes, you got a hell of a deal!

Somewhere in the early to mid 1990's we found a surplus yard near Auburn AL. and could see a bunch of military Blazers and K-30's in it - A friend finally stopped in one day and found out what the owner was asking for the axles in those trucks. His reply was "$250.00 for any axle" ! Needless to say we left the 10 bolts from the Blazers alone and got every Dana 60 that was in sight.
NOTE : I would like to thank NEVRENUF ( John ) for keeping me in the loop on that deal !!! /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I have owned five Dana 60's since than and found great deals on each and every one of them and made out very well when it was time to get ride of them ( kind of like a redneck savings bond ) .

The best deal that I have ever heard of ( that was not a buddy deal ) was when NEVRENUF bought a 1987 Ford F-350 SRW Dana60 for $200.00 in 1992 .The only thing it needed was a brake rotor due to a locked up caliper. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

I am down to just one front Dana 60 that came from my old K-3500 Crew Cab and I don't ever plan on turning it loose !

I payed $1400 for my '86 K30 with 350, 400, 205, 60/14 and 4.10 gears and drove it home. The engine and front axle are in my truck, the transmission and transfer case are in krazie87K5's truck, and probably some time next year, the cab will find its way on my frame as well.

Yep.

All I did was the brakes and the crossover on mine so far. Locker and new u joints is next, CHA-CHING!!

I picked up a whole 1-ton crew cab for $300.00. D60/14bff- 350/TH400/205...I traded a local guy the frame for a flatbed ride home...he even had the axles sandblasted and painted before he dropped them off to me as he was having the frame done for his own project. Still needs gears and a rebuild so it will eventually add up. You did good though.

I bought a M1009 and a M1008 at gov auction in AZ for 200 something for both - don't remember exactly. Each truck was missing quite a few things, but the D60 was only missing a hub.

complete D60F with 4.56's $900
D60F Detroit w/ bearings $510 + tax
D60 35 Spline Upgrade $375 + tax
D60F inner shafts $135 + tax
Bearings, Seals $120 + tax
Crossover Steering $395 + shipping
Brake Calipers and Pads $50 + tax
Kingpin rebuild Kits $180 + tax
Gear oil (5 gallons) $30 + tax
1410 Pinion Yoke $89 + shipping

Grand total $2784

None of this includes shipping or taxes that I paid on one item or another. It adds up real freaking quick when you do a full rebuild.

I was serously consittering buying a D60 from http://www.boyceequipment.com/ when you consitter how much to buy a used D60, and then rebuild it, not to mention maybe a gear swap. The cost can really add up. /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif
