What do I got

fixed the link

Sorry about the link, fixed it. I know I have a 14bff with 410 gears. I was just wondering what was inside as far as lockers or what not.

looks like a...

I havent looked at mine in a while so I cant say for certain. Let me ask first where it came from? Is this an old CUCV axle or from a stock k30? To me it looks a lot like the original open carrier. Cant really tell though as I cant see if the spider gears have been swapped out with locker parts. If it came from a CUCV then it would be that gov-lock, sorry not to familiar with those things. Well I guess this didnt help at all!!!

Well, I'm pretty shure the PO said it came out of a K30 in a junk yard. When tires are off the ground, both wheels spin. That means locker right?

Its a Gov-loc 14bff. There should be 3 "holes" on the edge of the carrier right by the ring gear if its a gov lock, if theres four its either open or has a detroit. But the spacing looks like 3

if the wheels spin in the same direction and if you put one on the ground and the tranny in Neutral and you still cant spin the one thats not on the ground its some kind of locker/limited slip. if they spin opposite directions or with one tire spins in the air and other touching the ground its open.

Gov-locks can't be tested that way.

If you've still got it up in the air, if you give one of the tires a hard jerk in one direction, you can typically get the gov-lock to operate, and you'll feel/hear it lock up on you.

That is, of course, unless it's already broken lol.

Well, with the tires off the ground, if you spin one tire, the other spins opisite. if you turn the ring gear, they both spin the same direction. There are 3 holes next the ring gear. Does this sound like a gov-lock

If it has three holes in the carrier for cross shafts then it is a gov-loc. I said it was a gov-loc because the carrier is smooth on the passenger side of the case almost like it has been machined. I have one of each in my garage and you def have a gov-loc.
