Hey guys I am thinking about buying a 89 S-10 basically to swap the drivetrain into a buddys jeep does anyone know what t-case it is? It has a 4.3 and I assume the trans is a 700 r4. Does anyone know the length of the trans and t-case together.

it should have the np231, but its possible it can have the np207. 88 can have both, don't know if they changed them mid year or what. the only difference i believe is the low ratio range (2.61 for the 207, 2.72 for the 231) the look almost identicle from the outside.

All three of the S10's I've worked on have been 89's, and they've all had np231's.
