Any experts, please help. I need to install the missing heater componants (only I don't know what I'm missing). I froze my ass off last weekend. I hope you can tell from the photos what I have and what I don't.

If thats whats on the firewall , probably already have a heater core there . Look under that black box for two hose bibbs , one 5/8 and one 3/4 . Then hook one to the intake ( probably plugged ) and one to the radiator ( if radiator has none try the water pump ) .

What it appears to be missing is a/c stuff only .

Thanks, I'll check it when I get home.

Like pauy said, if you look straight at the box look on the fireway wall itself behind the silver cylinder (a/c accumulator) will be two barbs that are 5/8" and 3/4" in diameter and probably only 1"-2" long. If the heater core is there thats what you need to hook up the heater hoses that go to to either the manifold, water pump or radiator. It really doesnt matter how the hoses are hooked up.

in the pic on the right, it looks like the heater line has been looped around so that one end of the heatercore is hooked to the other end. i would suppose this might be the case on the engine too - so perhaps you still have your heater lines, it's just not hooked up?

I'm not sure the engine was swapped out in Sept. so they might have just disconnected it and never hooked it back up. I'll check, thanks.

Every vehicle I ever bought with the heater core disconnected turned out to have a leaking core.

yup, there's a reason why it's bypassed...

I looped mine when it started leaking. Then I found out that a new heater core is stupid cheap. and very easy to replace. now I have heat.

I checked, behind the silver a/c unit is a hose attached to two pipes that are in the fire wall. There is nothing there except the hose looping back on it'self on the barbs in the firewall. Any thoughts? I'll try to take a pic of that angle.

you heater is disconnected. there should be 2 hoses there. one going to the intake manifold or water pump. another going to the radiator. I will take pictures tomorrow to show what it should look like. the hose looped on the firewall is about useless. People think it needs to be blocked off.:doah:

it is a canister. it is part of the fuel and emissions system. It is unhooked. I don't even have that in my truck anymore. melted it in a fire and never got a new one. If you look on your rad support there should be a sticker that show how all of that should be hooked up. I personally do not think its worth it unless they will not give you an emission sticker without it.

Except for the fact that the fuel tank vent line is connected still, meaning fuel vapor is more than likely being expelled into the engine bay.

Unless you can find a safe, water resistant, and CLEAN way to vent the tank (the gas fumes tend to eat paint) EVAP is the best way to do it. (That piece is typically called the EVAP cannister, for the Evaporative Emissions System that it is part of)

These are some pics for you. one hose goes into the radiator, the other into the intake manifold.

I see what you mean I'll try to hook it up this weekend. I had both the radiator and the engine swapped out this summer that might be why it's disconnected. Thanks for the photos and knowhow.

if it leaks at all just replace the heater core. they are cheap and easy to do.

Thanks for the help and photos. However, Why does the radiator run fulid to the firewall heater? I started to remove the hose that is running from the engine to the radiator just like your photo. It's full of radiator fuild. I'm too much of a novice to continue until I checked with a expert.
