there in my price range.... keep in mind I'm not building a show case system just something better than stock and I don't want POS speakers either.....

and the 6x9's I was thinking about getting the 6x9 boxes so I can place them either under the rear seats facing the font on the rear fender tubs. I don't really want to cut the panels to make them fit were the 4x10's go.

Its fiberboard , cutting the panels with a roto tool couldn't be easier , its like using scissors on paper :thumb: Flush mounted in the panels leaves you more room .

Infinity does make a good speaker too .

Im not a huge fan of Infinity's tweeters, but alot of people like such bright units aparently. Over all they make quality speakers imo.

Most 6x9's, those included Im sure, are actually designed to operate in a large space (usually infinite baffle in doors or the rear parcel shelf of a car) and placing them in small sealed boxes will greatly diminish their low-end output. Those people you see riding around with those wedge shaped 6x9 boxes in their back windows.... ewww.

If it were me, Id concentrate on the front stage and leave the rears stock, at least to begin with. The fronts are where the majority of the sound should come from, Id have a hard time talking myself into spending 80 bucks on rears and only 30 clams on the fronts. Id get better front speakers (like a decent component set, or bigger coax's) and amp them.

If this is going in your burb you might want to definitely add more front staging. In my old '89 burb I had just stock front setup and some decent Pioneer 6x9's mounted in the rear in place of the factory 4x10's using some a wood baffle to help support the weight of the speaker better than just the panel cardboard stuff. My biggest problem was the sound from the rear was so far away and the little guys in the dash had absolutely no midrange. Was going to add some 6.5's to either the kick panels or doors but sold the truck first.
The other thing I noticed was running the 6x9's just off deck power sucked. The only time they sounded good was if I faded to full rear and either left or right to give one speaker full deck power. Definitely think about running an amp, even a small one is better than deck power with a higher wattage 6x9.
And yeah, those little 6x9 boxes suck, had some back in the day and makes the speaker pop when any bass is present.

those 3.5" speakers are not tweaters... atleast thats what the desciptions says... the reason I was thinking about the boxes was because the rear overhang is cut on the burb... and the sound travels throught the openings.. so the sound dosen't stay inside... thats why I was thinking about the boxes and placing the boxes under the rear seats facing the front... I was thinking about the wedge style boxes.. I would like to get those kick panels so I can put some 6.5" speakers in there it would sound way better than those 3.5 speakers.. but like I said.. I'm NOT building a sick system just somthing better than stock... I much rather be spending the money on parts for the truck... but I'm tired of a ****ty audio... just with the Headunit the audio sounds 10x better than before...

is there any other brand of speakers I should be looking at instead... another thing those speakers that I posted are on sale.. those 3.5's go for $60 and the 6x9's go for $140

I would never send any bass to a fullrange/coax/triax/component speaker . Thats what the amp and subs are for . And if you remove sending bass to the little speakers , deck power is fine . Bass takes the most power to reproduce .

I've got a couple pairs of used ones if you're interested. PM me for prices if interested.

One pair is two way JBL (150w max) the other is 3 way Pioneer (240w max)
