Specifically, on the truck for my OBA. I have some regular rubber generic "hose, black" in the shop that works okay, but didn't fare so well on the truck. The UV and heat and various petrochemicals made that stuff crack and fall apart in no time.

I'm looking at Goodyear "Pliovic", supposed to be chemical- and UV-resistant. Any pro or con opinions, other brand to look at?

Fwiw, I've never used it for air hose but I have used the blue Goodyear pliovic for years as fuel & vent hose - great stuff.

Most of our jobsite air hoses are eelskin and have had no problems with sun. Dont know the chemical resistance of them, but they roll up and store well.

I think polyurethane would work very well.

There was recently a thread about using hose for transmission lines, and a few people including myself use Parker pushlock hose (it might have a more official name, but it says that on it and that's what my hydraulic store calls it). It's rated to 300 psi or higher I know, rated for diesel, and pretty flexible.

if a guy dosnt coil his rubber hose same way everytime its a bear to keep it in a coil . . . :doah: dam yung kids in the shop.

i have had the pleasure of using one before and it was a JOY to use. and light weight also :thumb:

Well, besides the OCD aspect (which I categorically deny appealing to me :D ), I am intrigued at the prospect of being able to uncoil and have it just the right length for a tire inflator/deflator and staying flat on the ground.

then that hose would prob be the best. it was also the easyest to hang up on the hook on the wall when done with it also.

if you look at napa / carquest places like that you can buy them in the stores now.

This stuff, "Flexzilla", is the shiznit! Not only does it have basically no coil memory, it's soooo soft (must be silicone rubber or something) I think I could use it as a pillow.

I just got a coupla random bits of it, think I'll redo my tire inflator setup with it 'cuz the poly hose I have on there now is WAAAY too stiff and won't straighten out for squat.

Plus it's "Chartreuse", says right on the carton :surepal: :haha: "Neon friggin green" is more like :deal:

Once I get my NPT-BSPT adapters :angry1: from McMaster, I'll replumb my ARB with the green stuff, and we'll see how it fares in the heat and drippings from the engine compartment.

What, it's a Chevy, don't they all leak? :haha:
