What do ya\'ll think about herculiner?

I'm going to be moving to Buffalo NY in January and need to do some rustproofing. I have a body-lift to put on my blazer and while the tub is in the air I thought it would be a good time to undercoat it. My big question is which one to use? I've heard good things about herculiner but I want some feedback. Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Buddy

I have a couple differen't opnions. My best friend has it on the side of his Sami. Its falling off, chipping and over all just looks like crap. It doesn't stay on and doesn't function well. But I've got it on a set of Grizzly 5000 nerf bars in the "tread" part of the nerf bar. Nothing other than sanding as per the instructions (same as my friend did) and I don't have any problems. I step on my bars quite often, and he rarely touches the area. I will say though, that its falling off on his truck in a area that has a sharp bend to the body line.

Just thought I'd pass it on...

A friend of mine has it on the floor of his Jeep and he hasn't had a problem yet.

Yes it goes on in a decent layer. You can make it as thick as you like by buying more cans. Very similar to Rhino linning.

Well, I appreciate all the replies. Is there something else that any of you might suggest as an undercoating? I know that the pros do a good job but I'd rather save some money and do it myself. I've already got a plan for the interior but I REALLY need something to protect the bottom side. How about duplicolor spray cans, lava-liner, etc. etc.?

Thanks again,

Buddy

There is that spray undercoating in the can that you spray on like spray paint or Ziebart.

We used Duplicolor on the frame of our Blazer, so far it's on pretty damn good. No sign's of it peeling or chipping off.

It's better to Have IT than to not need it, Than to Need it and NOT HAVE IT !!!!
