It's close to me, the right year (looking for an '89-'91) and color, rebuilt engine and trans, interior looks good, probably has very minimal rust due to being in tx, and they are asking $3.5K. Opinions?

What do yall think it would cost to fix up the two body issues in these pics:

I could live with the dent in the door but not the fender. On the bright side it gives you leverage if you really want to buy it. I went & looked at a clean '89 K5 today at a car lot. $6500!!!!! I told them no thank you.

The dent in the door if you do it your self and have access to the tools you could probally pull it out and smooth it out with a little work with a body hammer and a little bondo might not be 100% but look alright. If not replace the door skin but we just got done fixing a larger nastier dent on my s-10 and is do able. But the one on the fender I cant see real well and might be a little harder to fix probally just replace the fender

When I found mine they wanted $6500 for it. I got it for $5500 out the door after tax, tag, title, etc. It had 68k on the clock and it's rust free. Was a one owner, never towed, top had never been off, never off road. Just to and from the yacht club (no lie) and a couple trips to Alaska. I haven't had it 2 years and I've already torn it down. Oh well, I thought I might as well start with a good solid platform!

EDIT: Typo. I fixed the price.

Damn! I need to take lessons from you on how to wheel and deal with others to get prices down so cheap! :eek1:

So, with the $5950 you saved, how are you gonna build your rig?

Woops! I need to proofread a little better, lol. I wished I had saved that much. :eek1: EDIT: $5500 :D

so what do yall think of this truck price wise? Decent deal or should I haggle much with the price over the dents/damage?

I paid more for mine with a perfect body , and bad interior . The body damage on this one is all easy to unbolt items . Fender is cheapo and easy to have painted the same color . Door dent is easy to either fix , or replace . I'd buy it if the drivetrain is as primo as you say .

Check all the fluids for burnt smells , and drive it on an extended test drive .

Haggle, haggle! As for the dents, make a big deal when you talk price, but if you're going to wheel it, don't worry about them, you'll get more later! Just cut the front fender off below the marker light on both sides (that'd get rid of most of the dent) and put some kind of prerunner like tube front bumper on, do the same for the rear to match, cut the fenders out for some bigger tires and go wheeling! That's what I'd do, but, it's not my truck so...You could replace the fender, and pullout/light Bondo the dent in the door, you'll probably have to repaint the whole truck to get it to look perfectly matched. Other than the dents, it looks like a great truck, if it's as good as it sounds, I say go for it! But of course, haggle them down, always!
