Nonesuch
1/2 ton status
I can vouch for Nashu's (DBlazer) crawling ability. This guy can walk up anything that most have to get into the skinny pedal to get up. I shot the video of his 14FF shaft breaking which was quite impressive. What is really impressed me is a friend of mine with a 700r4/208 combo that snaped his 2 1/2 ton rockwell axle shaft with a 48" tire. Figure that one out 3.06 x 2.61 x 6.72 = 53.5:1 CR
Now to each their own. It also varies with driving style and terrain. How much control do you want and/or do you like to be on the edge? This crawl ratio, auto/manual debate has been going on for years and years. I see guys with sticks doing stuff that makes me pucker just watching. Sometimes I see them do stuff that makes me consider swapping over to a manual. In the end I like the slush box overall.
I am running an Atlas 4.3 and TH400 with 4.56's. I love the control you have with an auto and low crawl ratio. Compression braking is plentiful with the right setup. After watching Nashu crawl with so much control, I am now saving up for a Klune myself. I am running 40" Iroks compared to DBlazer's 44's.
O/T: Nashu, I have that tape packaged up but have consistantly forgot to go drop it off at the PO. I will try to remember and send it tomorrow.
