What do you guys think of this M1008?

I paid $3k for mine and it was very rusty. One question would be if it's still a 1-ton truck because of the lift. It's nice to have a true 1-ton truck. Depends what you're after though. Not much risk since you could get about $2k for the axles alone.

that thing is still for sale????
had a discusion with sweetk30 about that truck a month ago. He pointed out the front axle was swapped with an early 3/4 ton

Still for sale? :dunno: Uhh... My guess is probably no. I sent a message yesterday but still no email reply. I'm betting this is one of those posts on CL that somebody did and forgot about. If one of you guys got a response from him and some closure, could you let me know?

Funny that some of you guys had already spotted that one out! Doesn't surprise me though with this crew! :D

It looks like it is in pretty decent shape and would be a good plow truck and work truck. I wonder what the heck axle he's got up under the front though if he's advertising it has the D60?

Looks Pretty Good but as was said the front hubs look too small to be a 60. I'm gotta be Dana 44 or ten bolt 3/4 ton. He may have got over on someone if they don't know about The front ends. If it runs good still worth a couple grand to some people. Just not a real k30 anymore.

Personally, I wouldn't mess with a CUCV without the 1-ton axles. The gearing and axles/locker are a big part of what makes it cool. The mixed voltage electrical system and other CUCV unique stuff is kind of a pain if you just want a truck that runs to use for work. Having said that, I haven't priced K trucks recently, maybe it's still a good deal.

Yea, that sounds like some good advice. I agree, the D60 is where a lot of value would be in that price he asks. I've never owned a diesel before either but wouldn't be opposed to it.

I'd have to find out the scoop on that front axle but from the looks of things I'll probably never even get a reply back from the guy. I just found it on a random CL search the other day and I liked the plow too. My wife and I are going to be moving into a new house with a bigger driveway and after all the snow we got this winter (jeez - STILL getting) I just thought this thing might be a good idea.

Even without a dana60 front that truck is totally worth it IMO. Maybe even bring proof with you that it's not a d60 and u can use that to negotiate an even better price.
