Im looking for either a stick or a cheap mig if I can find one. The welds are for a rear suspension on a dirtbike (im making custom pitbike suspensions:D) The mig would be cleaner but its harder to findf a cheap one that will put out enough power. I found this http://hartford.craigslist.org/tls/367280169.html and was wondering what you guys thought. Its never been used... Doesnt look bad for the price:wink1:

Its not going to be an everyday toold but i do need something that is going to work when I want it too....

No clue how this would work as I have no experience with Craftsman welders. However, with that being said I would purchase this over a newer Craftsman whatever anyday. Like the rest of the country a lot of this type of stuff is now built in China. I am not saying they cant produce a quality product but it's hit or miss in my opinion. I can pretty much almost gurantee this was built back in the day as a quality made welder not something farmed out to the cheapest Chinese bidder. HTH

Edit: PS The asking price is 150 so you may even be able to get it for 75-100 which makes it an even better deal.

Save up and get a millermatic mig machine, you won't be sorry. Stay away from harbor freight! I know its tempting, but there welding equipment is complete junk.

This isnt harbor freight though, is it? i know craftsman doesnt make there tool so i figured it would prolly be a lincoln.

Honestly I would love to get a 175 millermatic, but I need a welder yesterday. I found a lincoln ac225. One of the tombstones. Its only a $100 so im gonna grab it tommorow. Something better is in the future, just not now.

The lincoln is powerful enough, reliable and cheap. Hard to beat for 100 bones:D
