what do you think of these wheels?

I had them on my truck when I bought it. They are cool looking wheels but IMO trucks belong with ugly steelies on them. Those would look sick on a mildly modded restore though.

I'm in the precarious position of having to get 16.5 wheels. I guess I could paint them satin black or with some teflon paint...

I'm going to check them out tomorrow. I have some 39.5 TSL's to put on them.

they are gay.. they are stupid.....oh wait sorry i just bought them... :D

just kidding man.. I have always liked that style... those and those dodge ones (cant think how to explain them)

i wouldnt paint them... keep them as they are.... too much effort to get them prepped for paint.. if you were to do that.. the expense on the prep side then buy new steelies...

love my black steelies....

I agree, I think they look great.

A little bit of cleaning on them things before you mount, and they'd be niiiiiiiiiice

a set of lug nuts will cost you around 100 bucks. thay take shank lug nuts.

and there is cheepy ones and the good ones.

look on the back side for ( western wheel ) if not thay are the cheepys. i have had a set of the cheepys and wasnt happy with them. i do have a set of western wheel ones and there brothers the turbines.

and eagle rim cleaner etching mag cleaner will clean them up good. then little polishing with mothers polish.

second pic thay were sitting for over 15 years all i did was to soaks and rinses with the mag cleaner and water. if i polished them thay would realy shine.

Hate to be the bear of bad news but if ya look close they are miss matched slots, one has a thick lip and the other has a thin lip.

yep thats it. :eek1:

the cheepys i had were smaller center holes than the good ones.

and if i recall thay were 8.25 wide not the 9.75 wide.

He did say that they are 10", so we'll see.
Some real good replies guys, some things here I wouldn't have thought of looking for....thanks for the bank of information once again. I'm still going to look at them if they're not to far away.

Any other ideas on 16.5 x 9.75 rims?
I'm leary of Hummer military rims, mostly because they're a foreign animal to me, and I don't want to have to check bolt torque everytime I drive it (or is that a rumor). They just look like they would be a pain in the arse to deal with, (leakage and such). I do have a DRW 60 though, and I know that would be a prefered setup for most. I would like to go SRW hubs, so I'll either have the DRW hubs turned or replace them.

i love that style. so much that i bought a set of 6 lug ones, and everything i own is 8 bolt.

I like the slots, but don't be afraid of the H1 wheels. Double beadlock FTW.

the tires I got are 39.5-15-16.5. that would suck the tire in pretty good at the rim wouldn't it? Would a hummer rim (8.25) be too narrow?

Picked these rims up yesterday for 2 Ben Franklins'. They really need a lot of cleaning, but I'm not to concerned with showing them anyway. They're in good shape structurally, a little crub rash on 2 of them, but nothing to hurt them.
They are 16.5 x 9.75. So I will be doing a DRW to SRW to conversion.
So I got a set of 39.5 TSL's about 1/3 to 1/2 worn for 400, and these for 200, that'll help the budget.
