I am thinking about putting a vortec 4.3 in my k5. The setup would be

84k5
4' lift,64's in the rear with flip,37" x terrains,3/4 rears 4.10,rear disk,4.3, 4l60e,doubler,cage,

I know when i had my 98 chevy pick up it had the 4.3 vortec in it and it ran very well. Got good milage and seemed to have lots of power. I willnot be towing anything and i dont run much mud. (anymore) I figure i will have lots of gearing for offroad and on road i will have the overdrive. The only thing may be a change to 5.13 gears.

this would be pretty cool i have though about this my self. The newer 4.3's have decient power like 190 horse and 260 torque. I have one in my s-10 blazer and get about 23mpg on the highway and 17 around town
