3/4 suspension, can you elaborate? runs ok on the highway, whats ok? and with that carb did the hook up the torque convertor lock up? is it still 3.08 gears? wheres the oil drip from? it also doesnt look like a six inch to me but it may just be the pics.

$3K

Suspension has all new springs same as 3/4 ton. "Runs ok on highway" means the kick down was not working could just be a adjustment kinda slow in acceleration. Yes it has the 3.08 gears I can tell. Oil drip was coming from oil sending unit. most likely from using Royal Purple which finds every leak. And the lift is 6" the pictures are deceiving, I think because the tires fill up the wells pretty good they have less that 1000 miles on them.

the prices very on these trucks depending on where your at. ive bought many of these trucks and something like that in my area id say $1500

i bought a 84 in really good shape same drivetrain as you stated, only a 4inch lift and 33s though and paid 1200 for it. drove it as a DD for a few years.

If the tranny kickdown on a 700R4 isn't hooked up, it'll be toast shortly...

very shortly actually. i would shop around a bit more. what part of texas are you in?

well, I went ahead and bought the blazer. I was mistaken about a few things the kick down worked just fine, When I drove it the first time I really didn't hit the gas this time I did to my surprise the truck came alive. The oil leak I found was coming from the oil sending unit and was not bad at all (easy fix) I took the truck through a pretty rugged area locked in all 4 and was really impressed lots of power up and down the hills it never skipped a beat everything was very tight. This thing felt like a new truck it doesn't even rattle going over bumps.

This guy was totally honest about everything on the truck when my wife and I drove it home she said I had the biggest smile she had ever seen. after the 20 min ride home I realized I got a hell of a deal. I went over every crack and krevis on the truck and could not find anything wrong.

This guy and his wife are about to get married and they have had to sell off all his toys so they could pay off the bills. After my wife met them and saw how much he hated parting with the truck she asked if we could do something for them being that we got such a great deal and they were good honest people. So we decided to fix my 79 blazer and give it to him my 79 needs a little work to be running again so I will fix it shoot it with some primer and give them the keys.

I will post some pics of the new ride this weekend. This is by far the best deal I have made so far.

Aside from those details you mentioned, I would say next on the list to examine would be rust issues. Little to no rust is a great indicator of price as it is a PIA to fix. This is kinda why I go crazy on rust prevention (taking to metal and coating the entire floor of a rust free blazer with por15 LOL) That is also very cool of you to pass along your 79 blazer to him. I always say there is nothing like southern hospitality. I know it really hurt when I had to let my blazer go several years ago. Whereabouts in Texas are you?

I gonna suggest punctuation and not lining the pictures up so that everyone has to keep scrolling from side to side to read your thread.

In my area thats worth about $1500 if its inspected and not rotted away. but those two things are getting harder and harder to find. we like to salt the roads just in case it snows. not when it snows.:doah:

Sorry to say but there is no 3/4 ton suspension on that rig. If it were 3/4 ton it would be 8 lug wheels not 6 lug.

Could be 3/4 ton springs, but definitely not 3/4 ton diff's. I'd prefer 3/4 diff's over 3/4 ton springs any day.

If it has 3.08's I'd do something about that sooner than later or you'll be doing a tranny soon too.

BTW, I fixed the pic problem. Please hit the enter key at least once between pic's to prevent having a really wide post and irritating everyone.

I've never seen a different part number on aftermarket springs for a 1/2 versus 3/4 ton.

Could be springs... maybe the PO dropped in a 14SF 6-lug out back, and that's HIS idea of 3/4 ton... ???

:dunno:

its just spring. Rusty thanks for fixing the pics I never even checked it. Southern hospitality goes along way. I live in Fort Worth soon to be Dallas.
