Im thinking about putting 3/4 ton springs on my 1/2 ton blazer.
Only because I bent my driver side spring and the 3/4 are free. Good idea or not? What do you think?

Front or rear springs?

If you're swapping front for front then they're basically the same.

If you're swapping the rear 3/4 ton springs onto either the front or rear of the K5 you will need to move hangers as they are longer.

Also, when using the rear 3/4 ton springs on the K5 you may gain lift because the spring pack is thicker than the K5 springs.

Thats only when going from the older style 52" springs to the newer 56" '85ish and later springs right? So like on a 76 blazer, you should be able to take some '76ish 3/4ton springs and swap them right in place. Correct?

Measure them...

If they are the 52s throw them on... If they are to stiff you can remove a leaf...

If they are 56s, shackle flip it and run 'em...

Of course I guessing they are rear springs...

I have a 87 suburban 3/4 ton leaf springs and i was thinking of doing it the other way around because 3/4 ton are stronger you could load or pull almost anything and it will not sag down ----------but ---------- if you just want it to have fun it is pretty stiff it bounces alot! So you better look in to it

from experience
My springs are off a 79 3/4. My blazer is a k10. The ride is nice on the freeway and gave the truck a slight lift. To level it out, the previous owner put a 2-2.5" block in the rear along with the rear 3/4 springs. Fire road trails and that kind of stuff is fine, but when driving over rocks or anything football to basketball size, it's very bouncy and ruff in the rear. It performs on the street nicely.

Good to know. The springs are going on the rear. The front sits a little higher so the extra lift will be fine.
Thanks
