What do you think

Looks Cali clean. Some minor things you might want to change after, but overall I like it.

Looks like some rocker fitment issues going on on the driver's side, three driver's side pic's all show something weird going on under the door.

not enough interior pics, but it doesn't appear to have a rear seat. No good pic's of front seats/console.

Not sure if it's worth $10K, not sure it isn't worth $10K...

Too bad they didn't keep the '69 front sheetmetal. The '69 is definitely the rarest of the first gen Blazers.

looks pretty good to me. obviously it all depends on the price...
I imagine some of the more experienced guys could give better feedback though

I noticed that too. probably at least worth asking them about.

maybe its just me, but I always felt that the only reason to paint something white is to hide bad body work. :D

I noticed that. I sent an email and hopefully he will send some more pictures.

Rene is on to something with the drivers rocker. It kinda looks like the door is bent in or something?

I'm going to be in Sac. Friday morning dropping my boy off at the Airport. His flight is at 6:50 am. I need to be in Reno at 1:00 for a meeting, that leaves me with a couple of hours if you would like me to check it out some.

I'm not the perfect gearhead by any means to check out all of the mechanicals, but I do know every square inch of that body and could tell you what you have in store for, on that.

Maybe you could have Iceman or NorCal Chris meet up there also, and we could all take a look at it for ya on Friday?

That would be great! I will send him an email to see if he will be available and get his info.

His response to my questions about the back seat and the rocker area.

Well I never had a seat for the back unfortunately. The rockets on both sides have been replaced due to back country cruzing and rust. Also once we got into that area we noticed that part of the floor pan was rusted. So I removed it and replaced it with parts from Chevy land and LMC truck. The parts didn't fit like the oem of course so we did get it a close to original as we could. I didn't want to just cover up the floor pan it needed to be done right. So they match with the fender and the back half of the body, but the door seems to hang over a bit. And trying to keep the gaps equal while hanging the door we noticed it. At that time the blazer was all ready painted.”

Sounds Familiar..

:haha:

Yea TOO bad for the front sheet metal. 69 was a speical year for these trucks seems odd to of just changed the front with out warrant, why not buy a 72 there are lots of them :dunno:. Looked like the raido hole got it too. None of this is the end of the world. If it pans out I think about $8000-$8500 would be a fair price. Just my 2 cents

I'm suspicious that the rocker repair was an attempt to cover and hide a much more severe rust issue deeper in the front cab support area.

Check the front footwells for evidence of tampering /bondo. A fresh coat of paint doesn't impress me unless I can also see DETAILED photos of the prep work that was done prior to the painting process.

I hate to say it but most people who are selling these trucks are either too afraid, or too unskilled to fix the rust properly and simply throw new outer rockers at the truck to hide all the damage underneath.

For 10K that seller better be prepared to show a lot of photos and prove what's really going on.

Thanks guys. After thinking about it and reading your comments I am probably going to pass this one up. At least the wife will be happy for a little while longer. If you guys see something decent or know of anything that is coming up for sale let me know.

And the hunt continues….

You'll always be better off looking for candidates on an enthusiast site (CK5, 67-72 Forums, etc) than eBay.

The weird thing about enthusiasts is they seem to be more critical of their own stuff and it's condition and will price it more fairly than know-it-alls on eBay.

Plus, odds are good that you can check the background of the seller, read the build thread (if there was one) and get a good feel for what type of person you are dealing with. That type of information is worth a lot.

What are you really looking for? Something that is done and would be a neat cruiser for you and the wife. 1/2 ton, 33's, rust repair complete and a nice paint job.

Or, are you looking to build something? 1 ton, BB, 4l80e, Blah, Blah, Blah......

If it's to build, I would look for just a tub and frame. Maybe with some of the fun work done (rust repair). That way you're not spending any money on stuff that you know will not be in the completed picture.

Here might be an option, if your choice is to build something.

I don't think $2,200 for a partially done tub w/extras and a powder coated frame is too far out there.

:dunno:

It does not have to pretty but I do need it drivable until I get the time to tear it apart. At the moment it will just be used around town and occasionally see some light trails. I don’t mind body work so some rust would not be an issue. Paint wont mater either. It would need to be an automatic (the wife cant drive a stick). Other than that I’m open, looking for a deal but also willing to pay for something that is done.
