What Do You Thnik Of This Automated Safety Hitch?

Yep ^^ about 23 min too long for me.

Cliffs Notes? Is it like a tow dolly?

Fifth wheel to pull with a receiver.
We talked about them awhile back.
I think @shady had never seen one or something and thought they looked sketchy and asked about them? I don't quite remember.

Like everything else, if used correctly it's probably okay.

Yeah I asked about them... The one I seen was different.. what got me was the braking thing... Seems like it's be easy for someone to try and haul something they don't have the brakes for:dunno:

Probably couldn't sell em if it wasn't safe though

Wow that is a waste of 30 seconds of scrolling

Two point hook up to I guess frame mounts. Axle on the dolly looks like a kingpin front axle.

Yeah, I jumped through some of the video, the axle uses F450 stuff. If you really think you need it you could just buy a F450 or a 4500 to tow with. Guys around here tow triple axle horse trailers with bunk quarters all the time. Never heard of anyone having trouble towing horses with a 1 ton or bigger truck.

The video is piss poor, he markets it as trucks are to high and you loose head room in the bunk area. I had a girlfriend back in the day that had one of those. Lets just headroom was never the problem:whistle:.

Needs to market towards suburbans and excursions.

But I do like the idea of another braking axle.

Guy I work with uses one behind his pusher motorhome to pull his gooseneck racecar trailer. Works very well. And was cheaper then buying a toterhome.

Backing a rig would be interesting.
I feel like the handling advantage of having the tongue weight of the trailer in the bed of the towing vehicle would be lost.
Another set of tires to wear out, go flat.
Turning radius is wider.

I don't see an advantage.

Can you pull a gooseneck/fifth wheel with your k5?

If the purpose of this gadget is to allow people to tow things that are way too heavy using vehicles with inferior brakes, power, and handling for the task.. it is crazy.

So, what is the advantage?

That's not my point either.

if you own a 7.3 power stroke excursion....
