Need twenty and don't want to use the packing foam stuff that was in there. Any ideas would be helpful. Know there are better products out there.

Old conveyor belting works great!...flip it over mone side is smooth, the back side is "checkered" and its thick enough to absorb shock but not waste height..and you'll never hurt it...

conveyor material - 24" wide and if you find the right place to pick it up from they will give you the drops they have. I walked out of one place with 50' of material. PITA cutting 1/4" rubber mat, but it keeps everything in its place. If there is half of a chance of using one of my boxes as a temporary road box that is what I set it up with. For the toolboxes that stay at my shop or at home I pick up the material from sears designed for that. I think it's about 3/8" thick and way easier to trace and cut tool outlines in. That stuff is the **** especially if your drawer has a lot of heavy gear in the front and light stuff in the back. It helps to keep it all separated, but it does fold up over time.

An old timer turned me onto the conveyor material when I was an apprentice with the ironworkers local. The other stuff I came across when I was window shopping one day.

I found a place at the local car show one year that had some real amazing stuff. They sell fender covers made out of the stuff but you can also buy it off a roll although they don't list the stuff on the roll on their website so you'll have to call them and ask about it. The stuff wasn't too cheap but I was AMAZED at how well the tools would stay in place. Here's their website. http://www.ssnake-oyl.com/mm5/merch...Code=Ssnake-Oyl&Category_Code=FENDER_CAT_HEAD

I like the 1/8 in rubber that Osh hardware has. It's shapped like this...

"VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV"

And comes in a huge roll wide enough to do my deep toolbox drawers sideways. So the width of the drawer is the length of the roll, you just cut it to length. If the drawer is not as deep as the rubber is wide you just utility knife cut at what ever "V" is the right width and peel/split it off. Fits perfectly. It's real rubber and I have been using this for years without it ever getting dry and stiff. The stuff in my box is like the day I bought it and have had it for years. Tools "stick" and don't move but don't "stick" when you pick them up like some of the "sticky" mat does. The ridges help them stay in place. I have the Snap On stuff too and don't like it. Tools actually "stick" to the mat. I hate that.

"Cheese cloth" is what i was told it's called, its actually the nonslip stuff used under some rugs, i think they sell rolls for drawer/shelf liner as well

TRUTH! :thumb:

I use this stuff also... It's not sticky to the touch, but when you put tools on it they stay in place and DON'T move. You can slam the drawers as much as you want and the tools will not shift around. With my OCD its important that my wrenches and sockets stay in perfect alignment at all times, and this stuff delivers the goods.

Ya I don't know what it's called either. They sell big rolls of it at Walmart in the kitchen section for lining cabinets/shelves. It is literally the SAME thing Craftsman sells for like $22/roll. At walmart it's like $3/roll, AND come in different sizes, and length of roll... AND you have multiple color choices :waytogo:

I used it to line all mine, nice padded rubber nonslip stuff.
