This may sound very stupid coming from a dude thats been around cars, trucks and equipment his whole life, but I don't know what NP means on a NP 203,205 and 208 T-case's. I also could not find any thing on the search.

Thanks!

Yup New Process.

They're merged with someone (haveing a brain fart on who it was) but now go by NVG (New Venture Group?). My 5600 6 spd is a NVG product, it's cast into the case.

It's the brand name, the manufacturer of a great many transfer cases. New Process was the company; it's now called New Venture Gear, so newer models are called NVG242, etc.

The other common brand is Borg-Warner, a la the BW1156 or whatever you see in Superduties, IIRC.

Its 'Magna' now according to their website :p:

2004 - September - Magna acquires the worldwide operations of New Venture Gear, a DaimlerChrysler subsidiary specializing in the production of transfer cases and other drivetrain products.
2004 - September - Magna announces the creation of a new operating group, Magna Drivetrain, focusing on the development and production of drivetrain technologies and all-wheel-drive systems.
