Steve, I would encourage doing some historical researching on Corvette racing. Its a great history especially when the C4’s were so dominant, the SCCA kicked them out of the class (remember this was 84-87) So They started their own class called the Corvette challenge racing series. The Corvettes starting with the C5R were very successful throughout the years despite the rule changes to handicap them.

My son in law bought a 17-Z06 that someone modded. They fubared it, and now he's having a new 408 engine built.
Should be 800+ when he gets it back…not sure if I want to go for a ride w him or not. Too much is just enough, but you gotta know how to drive it too!…:yikes:

Personal experience but 500 at the wheels it’s about the extent of a fun street car. Above that it’s just smoke and noise. You can do more but it’s a handful.

Love the C7 design, they finally got the rear hatch looking right.
