what engine do i have ?

ok , i did a search , i pulled up the mortec site
and the z28 site , with no help.
i need to make sure what engine i have.
its in my 84 but i know its not the original.
it has the finned valve covers and no hole
for the fuel pump. im thinking the guy said it was a 87
305, but not positive
please help if you can, the number on the
front of the motor is " K0924FJH "

This is all that can be decoded from the info you gave
It was assembled in the Mckinnon Factory in Canada on Sept. 24th, year ?? You need to get the number off the back of the block on the drivers side infront of where the tranny bolts on. Get those numbers and I'll tell you what it is.

According to "Chevy Small Block Suffix Codes 1955-1994" FJH is a 1987 Truck 305cid, 150HP, mated to a manual tranny, RPO L-03, TBI, VIN H motor.
