Just wondering what exhuast everyone is running with their 383s. What Headers, Cats, Mufflers, Pipe diameter, dual or single? Need input so I can make plans for my upcoming swap. The more info about your total setup, the better. Thanks. Oh, and include if you like your setup, or if you would have done anything different.

I have flowtech headers going to 2.25" dual pipes with no cats and 40 series flowmaster mufflers. I don't think my exhaust is restricting any power, it was pretty cheap, has lasted almost 5 years, and sounds awesome. I would recommend it.

Anything over 300 HP or so and you're losing power.

Edelbrock TES headers, 2.25" tubing, no cats, single FLowmaster 40 series muffler and dumped before rear axle. Sounds mean as hell. Going to swap a Super 40 before too long to replace the old muffler.

On my 87 K5 with the HT 383

Edelbrock headers and Y pipe. 3" magnaflow performance cat. 3" 50 series delta flow muffler. Real mandrel bent 3" tailpipe. 4" tip

I am using Hedman 1-5/8 primary headers with 3" collectors, dual 2.5" pipes into dual 40 series Flowmasters. From the mufflers back, I have 3" pipes running straight out the back.

I may change the tail pipes to angle out behind the wheels one of these days.:D

I am running Hooker headers w/ 2.5" collectors, Hooker's mandrel bent dual 2.25" pipes w/ Summit's Turbo style mufflers. My exit is out the side, but rocks have not been kind to it. How many exit out the back, and how bad are the fumes? Top on, and Top off.....

i dont have a 383 yet, but when i do i'm keeping the thorley headers, single 3" mandrel bend pipe, and 3" high flow cat off my 350 setup, but swapping the 40 series flowmaster for a 3" magnaflow. i dont think this will choke off any power, the motor im planning on supposedly makes 310 hp and 410 tq.

i've got a single 3" pipe exiting out the side behind back tire. its noticeable with top on, back window down. stopped or at any speed. the low pressure behind the truck forces the fumes in. probly wouldnt notice at all with top off, but i've never taken mine off.

When my 383 was in my Chevelle I noticed a major decreas in power between the Cyclone headers and 2.5 duel exhaust and the cheapo headers and 2.25 exhaust. The 2.25 had more bottom end, I think I will go back to the 2.25 when the 383 goes into the Blazer.
