I will be FINALY installing my NP205 at the end of next week. I have been told I could use ATF or gear oil in a NP205? I would like to use the ATF just incase it started to leak back into my tranny. But I don't know if I would trust ATF in a NP205. What would you guys use ATF or Gear oil?
Thanks
Adam

Gear oil. Been discussed literally thousands of times. Do a search.

When I got my NP205 it had tranny fluid in it. I'm not sure how long it had it in it but it runs OK. I took out he tranny fluid and put gear oil in it. I guess tranny fluid might save some mpg

Yea a few people (On this board) have said that you can use tranny fluid. But i'm going to do what I was going to do all along and use gear oil.
Thanks
Adam

If I recall correctly, teanny fluid goes in a 208. You sure it's a 205?

If you have an auto, I would go with ATF in the t-case. If you have a manual, run 80W-90. The 205 will run fine with either but you don't want to have two different fluids in case you run into a leaky seal.

theres a search button, use it...

Gm used both atf and gear oil in 205's
