Putting the Yukon 4340 front axle shafts in my 60 detroit locked front. Tires 44" tsls, Stock 454. Truck being built for hard core trail/some rocks. Sort of doubt the heavy duty spicers will hold up. Anyone have experience with the Yukon superjoints? Any others recomeded without having to sell a kidney?
Don't want the joint to be a weak link and take axles or detroit with it!!

Would anyone pick one over the other? 300ms($370 shipped) vs Yukon super joints ($352 shipped)

Are their other vendors to get these through other than CTM racing or Bobby Longs website?

There are places that sell them, but the price is the same everywhere. Longs are available at Poly Performance, and CTMs are at alot of places, BTF, 4wd Factory and I think ORD has them too. IMO I would go with the longfields, there was a test that showed it to be the strongest, and cheaper than CTMs too.

Problem is though if I put the longfield joints in with the Yukon shafts and break a shaft they probably won't warranty the shaft!

Is that just for longfields or what? I have never heard this. One of my friends runs yukons with CTMS and he had a shaft warrenteed.

From what I understand on the web site. The first axle broke is replaced no questions asked. After that it is up to their discretion to replace it or refund your money.

Went ahead and ordered the longfield joints and Yukon axles. Might as well put the best I can afford in it.:D
