What gauge wire

I just put a remote solinoid on my blazer. What size wire should I run from my alt. to my batt. I have a 100 amp alt and yellow top if that helps. Thanks

I think 8 gauge is minimum recommended. Bigger the better.

the factory wiring is 12 awg or 14 awg that runs all the way across the engine bay then back to the starter. I had an old 4awg battery cable laying around but I figured it was too big.

they were too small from the factory. Voltage loss is a terrible thing!

I run 4, It's huge overkill.. but I plan to weld, so thats where it'll be really needed... My battery cable is 1/0....

My charge wire is the smaller red running to the marine bat switch..
