that is just the date, after those numbers is the tooth count, 41-10, something like that...

you could also take your vin to the chevy dealership, or check your build codes, i dont remember exactly, but i know a G80 is a posi build code, and i think that the codes for gears are like GU2 through GU5 or something like that. id have to look at a service manual to match the build code to the specific gear.
