what gears to use?

i got an 84 k-5 w/305. Im goin up to 37" SSR's, and i have 3.07gears now. What gears will i need to put in, for optimal performance?

always depends on the type of wheeling... and what other gear reductions you have in your tranny/tcase... but all else being equal I'd go with 4.56 or 4.88.

Do you have overdrive? If you do, 4.88's would be perfect. If not 4.56 will do fine. I have 4.56 with 35's and its great but i dont have OD so it kinda revs high on the freeway, thats alright though =)

I have 37" SSRs and I run 4.10s because I have a th350.The RPMs arent to bad on the freeway,its not a dog off the line, and I can crawl ok in low range.

If I had an overdrive trans I would have gone 4.56.

i have the 700r4 with overdrive, and i will be runnin 37"ssr's. im thinkin 4.56, would that werk alrite?

if u have OD... go with 4.88s... that way, when u upgrade tires to 38-40s... you'll still be a-ok. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
