well what do u all think happened?? my neighbor went in the water hole and didnt come out!!LOL
he had water in the pistons and we took all spark plugs out and tried to turn the motor by:
1) key, no luck
2) big breaker bar and tried to turn the crank, strike 2
3) push start down big hill, strike 3
4) 4wd lock and me pushing with my truck only to hear 4 tires scream to a stop:doah:

so here is the video enjoy :D

I remember that video, time for a new motor. That really sucks though, especially since it looked like he was having fun.

If it actually hydrolocked (sounds like it did) there will probably be at least one bent rod and the crank may be bent as well.

That was my next thing to cover...
I don't recall EVER hearing of a hydro-locked engine not having one thing or another bent up internally. (note: Any engine that had alot of load on it)

I agree with the bent rod(s) theory. I wouldn't buy any parts until you see if one of the rods damaged the block. Time for a stroker!

maybe some inner fenders too.. I've had a bit of water injested, but

A. more water than that... i was up to my headlights
B. Most of it was thrown from the fan
C. I had an open element.

So what did I learn from this?

A. Before water, cover your radiator. No water hitting fan.
B. Got rid of open element for the most part. The stock air cleaner does a pretty good job of keeping out the water!

Seems to me that the biggest thing that killed him (his motor) there was too much speed. Tell him to put a little faith in his rig and just roll through it. It didn't even look as if you need 4x4 to go through that puddle....let alone a 20mph head start. I'm sure all the other things, like no inners and an open element filter had a part too, but that water was not deep at all.

your friend learned a very valuable lesson, the hard way. :doah: SLOW DOWN!

rooster tails make for good pictures and videos but can ruin your day.

this is how you drive through water.

Beautiful step side

I wish it would ran so there is water down here

Everything is dry
