What if someone put the fleetside upper body molding onto a blazer with the lower body molding? i think it could look pretty cat'sass.

like that only blazer- not a shortbox. i know it would require drilling holes and cutting the bed strip about 6" but other than that, how would it look to you?

I've seen it on several blazers and it looks sweet, a nice mod IMO.

I love the moldings on first gens, the lowers just don't look quite right without the uppers IMO. Add in 2 tone (white has to be in the middle) and there is nothing classier that can be done on a 69-72 truck or Blazer.

ok, how would i cut that bedside chrome without it leaving a hard edge so to say?

It wouldn't be that hard, the last 4 inches or so is a seperate piece that is crimped on to the main piece.

Just undo the crimps on the long piece, no need to be that careful since you'll be cutting it off anyway. Cut to length, deburr then carefully recrimp or even epoxy the piece back together. I'd definitely epoxy, if you tweak the outside it'll make the anodizing look terrible.

When you order the moldings make sure you get the stick on clips. If you're worried about the moldings falling off then use a retainer on the front and on the back. You'll only need to drill 2 holes in the bed side if you decide you have to have the steel clips. There is absolutely no need for more than 2 steel clips in the bedsides, the tape holds very well in the middle, in fact I've installed the bedside moldings with just the tape clips with no problems. Everything has to be spotlessly clean in order for them to stick properly but they will work.
