The rubber line should be lasting a long time unless it is getting snagged on something. You could always go with a metal line. Take a trip to your local junk yards and find a truck that has one that way you won't have to worry about bending the line.
I've always preferred steel over rubber. used rubber only where flexing is required (duh) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifI went to Napa, and bought regular 3/8 brake line and bent it myself. Use mechanics wire or coat hanger wire to mock up the bends and buy a tubing bender while your there. You can also buy the necesary adapter in brass to go from fuel pump to carb or gas tank to fuel pump.
You can buy a new fuel line that snakes around the block from the mechanical fuel pump to the carburetor for $20 or something like that. I eliminated mine because I use a electric fuel pump now. It isn't easy to get in there.
