what is dif between6 lug and 8 lug 44

change the backing plates, hub and rotor (spindle too if one is the old, and one is the new design) i.e. My D44 HD 3/4 (1973) has my 1989 10 bolt knuckles and tie rods and the D44 spindles---> out bolt right up.
