i am looking at another 86 K5, the guy wants $6500 for it but not sure. The body is fair, will need a paint job soon. The good stuff though is it has a chevy BB 454 bored .060 with a heavy duty 700R4 built with the corvette clutches. He just rebuilt the NP208 and the front and rear end have but rebuilt with a new AUBURN Locker in the back. Has a 4" lift with 33's. New dash and dash pad with new carpet. Does need some different front seats, not the most comfortable. What is a good offer for this? THANKS

I'm not sure of the actual value but that seems a bit steep. I recently purchased an '85 K5 Silverado with a new Goodwrench 350 and paint for $3000.(Unfortunately NO lift and has factory rearends with 3.08 gears) Absolutely NO rust or body damage!! The only things I need to replace is the carpeting and I'd like to get cloth seats. I've got to believe that you can get a better deal and BUILD it Yourself!!! 454 would be nice though!!! Just my opinion ......

I have a 454 going into my blazer. I was thinking of using a 700r4 trans and a 205. BUT. my trans shop and a few trans parts places don't recommend the 700r4 with a 454. to much torque. quit expensive to build a 700r4 to last behind it. I would be very leary of that trans knowing that they have problems behind a stock 350. I might over build mine and try it anyways.

Sounds overpriced to me. Probably somewhere between $4k-$5k is about right.

I agree, way too much. 4 - 5K would be about it. Note that the 454 can not be bored again if already at .060" over.

I agree with the rest 4K is about right.
OH and Auburn doesn't make a "locker" , that I know of anyway, so it must be an Auburn Limited Slip or Posi diff.
