What is my stock hp and torque?

I searched on Google but couldn't find what I needed. I used to have a link with the numbers, but I must have lost it. Anyway, I have two trucks and was wondering what the factory hp and torque ratings are on each, I'm trying to justify an engine swap.


1989 C1500 with a 5.7 - - - HP? Torque?
1995 C1500 with a 4.3 - - - HP? Torque?

dont know abt the 4.3, but the 5.7 has 210hp@4000rpm and 300ft/lbs@2800rpm.

Thanks for the information. I found the 4.3 specs finally, 160 hp and 235 lb.-ft. of torque. Now I need to decide if it is worth swapping the 350 into the 1995 in place of the 4.3 /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Id say its worth it, motor swap takes a day, maybe 2, computers should swap over, I think they are both still tbi injection, if i am mistaken, that could complicate things.

actaully the vortec 4.3 are 190 hp and 250 tq

From what I have read the swap should be fairly easy as they are both tbi engines, just use the chip from the 5.7 in the 4.3 computer.

I think Mine has the weak 4.3, in 1996 the ratings increased a bunch when they switched injection systems.

it should have the CPI vortec 4.3, i have two (92 s10 blazer and 94 safari) and the ratings for the vehicle are 190hp and 250tq.
yes in 96 they changed to a MPFI vortec 4.3, i think they got 210 and /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.giftq

your 95 should have the same engine as my s10 and safari. i thought the tbi 4.3 got 160 hp and 235tq, but i could be wrong.

I think that mine is a tbi, but I could be wrong; I don't know a lot about FI. Maybe I will take a pic in a day or so to verify.

If yours is a '95 it is not TBI.
