My cat and muffler are on theiur way out. I have two 2.5" glass packs I am going to weld together to replace the cat and muffler. I am hooking to the factory y pipe which measures an o.d. Of 3". I can not locate an adapter for 3" to 2.5" nor a 3" to 2.75". I think if I can get the I'd of a 3" exhaust I can roll an adapter then weld it to the front glasspack.

i believe its 2 7/8 id.i couldnt find the right adapter for mine either.so i put the 3 inch over the 2.5 flowmaster and welded it all together filling in the gaps.not the best or easiest way to do it,but its solid now and passed inspection.i htink there is a 2 7/8 adapter to 2.5 if you can get it inside of the y pipe and weld it in the rest of the exhaust will fi t togwther then.im guessing you arent worried about bein legal cuttin off the cat and putting in the glass packs.

Not really, my biggest concern it if the SES light will start acting up on me. That and my tuner friends will probably disown me for not getting a baseline before removing the oem gear. I've tried to make it last until I'm to that point, but its not going to work. I guess I can bolt the new glasspacks on and when I can get the cable I'll just unbolt the glasspacks and reconnect the oem gear to get the baseline. Once I get uncle sam off of my back I can get back into the truck fulltime but for now its only what is needed. Two more months can't wait. Thanks for the idea.
