I have been seeing this alot. what are the point to these?thought you didnt want them to move around?

Only ever seen these used on drag cars

You talking about the liquid iron industries sliders on pirate? They offer the spring to move just like a shackle without the shackle. They also help low rigs stay low. IE jeep cj and yj after a shackle reversal on the front. If I had those I wouldn't have caught my shackle backing up and this wouldn't have happened.

like this ^^ been seeing them on jeeps camaros and drag cars alot just wondering why you want the spring to move

The spring moves already. That’s why it’s called a swing shackle and not a stationary shackle.
You replace the shackle with a slider.

I feel like this is a gimmick for off road trucks, like the double shackle years ago. Supposed to give you more droop but all it ends up doing is unloading at inappropriate times.

Not exactly new tech, just popping back up again. Wears out its bushings faster than a shackle does but seem to work just fine when setup correctly.

I know people on here have used them. I can’t remember who. It’s not a gimmick they work fine. With added benefits over shackles. They aren’t for everyone but they do work

So if you're going to buy them buy them from liquid iron 100%. Tim that owns the place is a friend of a friend and makes quality stuff.

When I was considering them I was very concerned about the delrin bushings wearing out too fast. I actually ordered a second set just in case but Tim assured me that hes seen them run on numerous setups with a bunch of miles and rough race conditions and nothing wearing out any faster than a typical bushing.

The reasons I went with them are to remove one bushing that everything pivots on to prevent "flopping", improve my departure angle (which is a big thing for me when there's no body out back), and keep my truck lower (which actually wound up not really mattering for me). They also give you unlimited travel, your shackle end will never ever be your limit when replaced with those sliders, it will 100% be the shocks/springs.

Looking at them I wonder if they would help with lateral stability in a street car application. Only one bushing to flex in a corner instead of 2. And no shackle to lever sideways.
