Saw this in a junk yard last Saturday. It's from my camera phone.
This had no engine but looked to be a 465 and 205. Whats the thinghanging off the pto outlet? Looked like there was a shifter on there at one time.

Looks like a PTO. Some PTOs have a yoke like a driveshaft some were splined.

Which yard was this at?

Should I spill it or not, hmmm.

It at the pull a part on lamar and 240.
According to their website they'd only charg something like $75 for it. I only charge a 12 pack to be middleman. Damn good deal!

I was just out there and didn't see any Chevy 4x4's except a Suburban or two. I was looking for a crew cab cab.

Any one know what a pto for a 205 is worth, I have one I may want to get rid of it if anyone is interseted.

Well for a NEW one its about $800 and all you get is the pto drive no shifter no output yoke. Used ones can be had free or next to nothing.

I have 1 for a NP203x-case and 2 for SM465 transmissions, and a PTO driven 8K winch. I also have a 3 speed brownie trans overD-direct-underD with a PTO under a tow truck but it weighs about 300lbs. I paid $20 for 1 of them the rest came on trucks I bartered for.

The problem is there is no direct (line of site) way of getting a shaft to the front of a truck. Best I have come up with is 2 shafts, 3 U-joints, 3 yokes, 2 pillow blocks, 2 gears and a chain. Pricing everything needed best I could come up with is about $600 worth of crap to make a PTO winch work on the front. Not to mention all the fab to make it all work. Also I think the shaft will make removing the oil filter more complicated. I figure its easier to just spend a little more and get an electric winch and save myself HOURS of work.

I forgot to mention all mine are rear shaft PTOs But I "THINK" they swap fairly easy.

I have a front shaft driven PTO winch, 2 shafts from the pto to the front of the truck, one pillow block. It fits but is tight. A rear shaft pto would be a different story.

You can look on their website and get a detailed map of where the chevy 4x4 trucks are located- Right down to the row they are in.
