how is the plug installled? and if thats where im leaking tranny fluid what kind of performance problems would that give me and is that plug easily fixed?

just pop it out and replace it. it is just a dummy plug to block off the spot. performance is lost when fluid is low and tranny slips.

take punch and spin it in the case . then grab it with plyers and pull out. then clean up area good. get new plug and aply some permatex tach and seal to the sides . ( red thin super sticky stiff in white bottle. ) then use big socket that just fits in plug center and tap it in with a hammer using the socket as a driver.

you dont think its possibly cracked in that area do you . i was looking around at some other posts and someone was saying that the np203 is heavy and if it was offroaded hard it could of cracked. so the guy before me could of threw some jb weld on the crack and let it be

hopefully just the plug though

best clean it all off with brake cleaner and scrape off the other crap and check over for leaks. if cracked remove tranny drain it clean it good and have it tig welded by a good welder that knows aluminum if its a simple crack. if real bad find a new case.

p.s. little note . welders HATE JB WELD PAIN IN THE ARS TO WELD ON. so if need to weld it remove all of it and thay will thank you for it.
