I was thinking that too, but I am stumped on how the heck it works with just a shaft that is hooked on a stationary part with a slide on the other end...
Not sure how that keeps it in place for cruise. I just wanted to put a spacer under by TBI and was curious on what it is.
Yes it is Cruise there is the switch on brake and also a small black box slightly above that area inside. The cruise lever on stalk has a wire that plugs in to the black box under dash. That has a wire to switch and fuse block. Some where I have a diagram for it.
I relocated mine onto the firewall between the wiper motor and DS fender. I got a cable from some GM FWD car to hook it up (it has the slot). So if you would still like cruise, but that thing is just in the way, maybe that idea helps. IIRC, I had to relocate the vacuum ball first, which required modifiying the 2nd battery tray brackets. I can't remember how far that stack of dominoes went.
The reason I even asked is because I have another TBI Body that I have modded and would like to swap the factory one out. My concern was that the other TBI does not have that linkage on it. Is that something that I can swap out to the modded TBI?
