Air compressor started leaking down and I traced it back to this. What is this? It’s got a very small drilled hole in the top of that bolt. I’m guessing some sort of pressure relieve valve? It’s an 11 year old Husky compressor.IMG_2458.jpeg

I would bet it is leaking around the threads and that speck is just a remnant of being machined. Take it out and see

Should have a breakaway relief up by the switch

look like a check valve. No idea why the cap would have a hole.

Edit I take that back. If it is a check valve, to keep air in the tank then that tiny hole is relieve pressure in the head line.

If it leaks after pump shut down, the check valve is leaking.

Any problems with the threads there will only leak while it's pumping, so you probably wouldn't even notice a small leak. If air is escaping while not pumping, the check valve is bad, as @Wes Harden said. Otherwise, the leak would be at the front of the outlet is. Check valves are wear-items, as they rattle open and shut when the pump is running. I remember replacing mine a couple of times now, but I may not be getting a good brand.
