I was talking to a guy today, he said to get a 4" lift out back, I should use the ORD 2.5" shackle flip with custom made longer shackles. By doing this it gives more room for the spring to compress and should give a softer ride. What do you think?

I don't know if I would go to a shackle a full 3" longer than the stock one. A 1.5 to 2" longer shackle would be more along the lines of what you need. You really only need a long shackle with a spring that has a lot of static arch to it. Past that it helps, but not a lot. You could use a longer shackle with the 4" to get rid of some sag. I'm not a fan of longer shackles since they increase leverage on the bushings and give more side play. But within reason they can work pretty well.
